Lock the Internal Wastegate for External Wastegate Conversion
The IAG Turbo Wastegate Bracket replaces the internal wastegate actuator on TD04 series turbochargers while locking the wastegate flap in the closed position. This modification is required when switching from an internal wastegate to an external wastegate setup — the internal wastegate flap must be locked shut so boost pressure is controlled entirely by the external wastegate. The dual spherical bearing linkage and center turnbuckle make installation and adjustment straightforward.

Why Lock the Internal Wastegate
When converting to an external wastegate, the internal wastegate flap inside the turbocharger must be locked closed. If it is left functional, it will open at relatively low boost levels based on its spring rate, bypassing exhaust flow around the turbine and preventing the external wastegate from controlling boost pressure correctly. Locking the internal flap forces all exhaust flow through the turbine at all boost levels, giving the external wastegate full control.

Turnbuckle Adjustment
The center turnbuckle allows fine adjustment of the bracket length during installation — turn one direction to lengthen the bracket and open the wastegate position, the other to shorten it and close the gate. Once the gate is properly closed, the turnbuckle locks the position.

Reversible Installation
The IAG bracket can be removed and the original wastegate actuator reinstalled if needed — the modification is not permanent.
