Speed Density and IAT Sensors
Speed density tuning uses a MAP sensor and intake air temperature sensor to calculate engine load instead of a mass airflow sensor. The IAT sensor measures the temperature of the incoming charge air, which affects air density and is required for accurate fueling calculations. Installing an IAT sensor in the intake piping is a standard step when converting to or building a speed density tuning system.

Weld-On Bung Design
The kit includes an aluminum bung that is welded to the intake piping at the desired IAT sensor location. The bung provides the correct threaded seat for the included sensor. After welding and cooling, the sensor threads directly into the bung.

Universal Application
This kit is universal — suitable for any intake piping material and location where an IAT sensor needs to be installed. The weld-on design allows placement at the optimal location for accurate air temperature measurement in the intake path.
