Cobb / CSF Front Mount Intercooler — Black — BMW N54 / N55 Models
The Cobb / CSF Front Mount Intercooler for BMW N54 and N55 models in black is a co-developed FMIC solution for the turbocharged BMW inline-six platform. CSF is a specialist racing radiator and intercooler manufacturer; this FMIC brings their core engineering to the N54 and N55 platform in a package designed to work with the Cobb Accessport N54/N55 Stage 2 OTS maps.

Cobb / CSF Co-Development: Intercooler Engineering for N54 and N55
CSF Racing develops intercoolers and cooling systems for professional motorsport as well as performance street applications. The co-development with Cobb for the N54/N55 platform means the core sizing, end tank design, and cooling efficiency are validated specifically for the BMW turbocharged inline-six application and matched to the Cobb Accessport Stage 2 maps that use the FMIC’s cooling capacity. The N54 and N55 both benefit significantly from improved charge air cooling — the factory intercooler limits what the Accessport Stage 2 maps can safely target, and the FMIC removes that limitation.
N54/N55 Pipe Kit and Accessport Stage 2 Map Integration
The FMIC pipe kit is engineered for the BMW N54/N55 chassis — correct routing from the turbocharger outlets to the intercooler core and back to the intake manifold without modification. The black core is visible through the BMW front grille opening. Requires Cobb Accessport with N54 or N55 Stage 2 OTS maps.

Why Choose Cobb Tuning
Cobb Tuning has been developing performance software and hardware for turbocharged enthusiast vehicles since 1999. Founded in Austin, Texas, Cobb built its reputation on the Accessport and expanded into a full catalog of hardware engineered to complement it. Every OTS map is developed in-house on real vehicles, and every hardware product is validated as part of a complete system — not sourced and sold in isolation. That integrated approach is why Cobb produces consistent, reliable results across the builds we see every day.
The RallySport Take
The Cobb/CSF FMIC for the BMW N54 and N55 is the charge cooling upgrade that enables Stage 2 calibration on these platforms. CSF’s manufacturing quality and Cobb’s calibration development combine to produce a system that works correctly from installation. The black finish suits both understated and aggressive engine bay presentations.
