How Digressive Valving Works
At low shaft speeds — the kind of movement generated by cornering, braking, and acceleration — the dampers generate higher resistance, which keeps the chassis controlled and communicative. At high shaft speeds — the kind generated by hitting a pothole or expansion joint — the resistance tapers off, allowing the suspension to absorb the impact without transmitting it directly to the occupants.
