The XClutch Twin Solid Ceramic clutch kit uses two solid ceramic discs for the maximum torque capacity and minimum rotational inertia in XClutch’s twin disc range. With no spring damper in the hub, the solid ceramic discs offer the fastest throttle response and the highest torque ceiling of any XClutch twin disc design. This is an uncompromising race clutch.

Solid Ceramic Discs Explained
The solid ceramic discs eliminate all compliance from the clutch assembly — engagement is sharp and immediate. The very low disc inertia accelerates quickly and reduces synchromesh load during gear changes, which is important in high-rpm race applications. Ceramic material handles repeated high-heat engagements effectively. This setup requires full, complete clutch engagement on every launch and gear change — partial engagement will glaze and destroy the discs.

The Twin Solid Ceramic is a purpose-built race clutch. It is not suitable for regular street use — the engagement character is demanding, slipping the clutch is not an option, and driveline shock on engagement is significant. For a dedicated competition car where the driver is committed to the engagement technique it requires, the torque capacity and response are excellent. Do not install this on a street car.
