Why 27mm on the GD STI
The GD STI already has stiffer factory front bars than the equivalent WRX. Moving to 27mm is the step for builds that need maximum front roll control — time attack cars, autocross setups on maximum-grip tires, and track configurations where body roll is to be minimized at all costs. Running 27mm on a street car without matched rear stiffness will produce excessive understeer.

System Calibration Required
The BSF36XXZ is most effective when the rear bar is also at maximum stiffness (BSR37XZ or BSR37XXZ), spring rates are matched for the increased roll stiffness, and the endlink geometry is correct. This is a component of a complete high-performance GD STI setup, not a standalone street upgrade.

Track Use Notes
On smooth circuits, 27mm front roll stiffness works well alongside a matched rear setup. On bumpy tracks or tracks with significant pavement variation, the stiffest settings can reduce mechanical grip. The adjustment positions provide the flexibility to dial back if conditions demand it.
