The GrimmSpeed Intercooler Splitter mounts beneath the factory hood scoop and directs ram air over the GrimmSpeed TMIC surface on 2015-2021 WRX and STI. Without a splitter, much of the available ram air misses the intercooler core entirely.

The factory hood scoop routes air into the engine bay in the direction of the TMIC, but without a splitter, airflow distribution is diffuse and a significant portion passes around the core rather than through it. At highway speeds and track conditions where ram pressure is meaningful, this represents wasted cooling potential.

The GrimmSpeed splitter mounts to the underside of the hood scoop and creates a directed channel toward the intercooler surface. More effective cooling from the same available airflow.
