The FA20 naturally aspirated platform does not need multi-plate capability, Stage 1 organic is correct for naturally aspirated FT86 builds at any power level. The Hyper Multi-Plate is for forced-induction FA20 builds: turbo kit or supercharger installations that have fundamentally changed the FT86’s torque output.

A turbocharged FT86 can produce torque levels that approach or exceed the single-disc Stage 2’s capacity at higher boost levels. The Hyper Multi-Plate provides the holding capacity needed for high-output forced-induction FT86 applications without requiring conversion to a completely different clutch system.
