The Cobb Adjustable Short Throw Shifter replaces the factory shift lever with a double-adjustable unit that provides either a 15% or 35% reduction in throw length, selected by repositioning the adjustment point on the shifter body. The 15% position provides a moderate improvement with minimal change to factory shifter geometry; the 35% position is the more popular setting — it produces a noticeably shorter, more decisive shift action. The adjustable design means the driver can dial in the preferred throw length at installation rather than accepting a single fixed reduction.

Standard Lever and Factory-Compatible Installation

The Cobb shifter installs in the factory location using the factory mounting points — no modification to the transmission tunnel or floor is required. The shift knob threads onto the Cobb shifter shaft at the same pitch as the factory shaft, so any factory or Cobb shift knob is compatible. For the wide barrel variants, the larger diameter shifter body provides more hand contact area and a different ergonomic feel for the shift motion. The tall variant raises the knob position on the lever, changing the ergonomics while retaining the throw reduction adjustment.
