On a cat-back exhaust system, this weight reduction is meaningful and located behind the rear axle, where reducing unsprung and tail weight improves vehicle dynamics beyond the exhaust’s primary performance function. The titanium tips display the characteristic heat-induced blue and gold coloring that develops with use — a visual signature of genuine titanium construction that cannot be replicated with coating.

GR Hatchback Fitment and Titanium Tip Character

The GR hatchback Subaru’s rear section geometry differs from the sedan — the lower roofline and different trunk space affect the exhaust exit point and the space available for muffler placement. This hatchback-specific exhaust uses routing and tip geometry designed for the hatchback body rather than being a sedan system modified to fit.
