Lowering springs reduce the vehicle’s ride height by replacing the factory spring with a shorter, stiffer unit. The lower ride height reduces the car’s center of gravity, which directly reduces the weight transfer that occurs during cornering — less weight transfer means less body roll, less suspension geometry change under load, and more consistent cornering behavior. The stiffer spring rate also reduces suspension travel under load, keeping the suspension geometry closer to its design position during cornering where the factory springs allow more travel. After installation, a four-wheel alignment is required to correct the camber and toe changes that result from the lowering and to ensure even tire wear.
